Luxembourg Wine & Spirits Academy offers a one-day wine introduction driving to the WSET Level 1 in Wines certification. You will discover the main grape varieties, and styles of wine through knowledge sharing and an introduction to tasting and food pairing. You will taste 9+ wines representative of styles from all over the globe.

Is this course made for you?
The WSET Level 1 in Wines is designed for beginners.
This course is dedicated to winelovers, amateurs who want to discover the world of wine or persons who want to start a carrier in wine.
We believe in learning by practicing. In this class, you will learn about the wine regions of the world and grape varieties, and you will taste them!
What will you learn?
You will :
- touch on the most common grape varieties an their key characteristics.
- explore the diversity of styles the world of wine offers.
- learn the key principles of pairing.
- learn how to describe a wine, using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT).
- discover the principles of storage and service.

How does a day course work?
Our course length is 7 hours and led by a certified educator.
The course usually starts at 9AM and finishes at 5PM, including the 45 minutes exam.
Upon arrival, you will receive you study material as well as tasting grids.
The day will alternate interactive presentations and tastings.
Lunch is not included in the price. However we can propose you some options (restaurant, deliveries...) but please note those are dependent on the restrictions due to the COVID19 situation.
The exam will take place in the last part of the course. It consists in a 45 minutes multiple choice questionnaire. You will need to answer 30 questions.
A 70% score is the threshold for passing the exam . The results will be sent to you directly by the WSET London in about 3 weeks after the exam.
Upon passing, you will join the wonderful family of WSET certification holders !
The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is the first step of an exciting journey into the world of wine knowledge.
At the end of the course, if you pass the exam, you may continue your path by enrolling for the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines. Check the dates for enrolling.
Whether you choose to pursue or not, you will always belong to the WSET family, and that is awesome!
