The WSET Level 2 in Wines is a beginner intermediate certification.
This course is designed for those who already have a basic knowledge of wine and want to go the extra mile. It is equally suitable for those who want to pursue a career in the wine industry.
What will you learn?
You will :
- touch on the most common grape varieties and their key characteristics.
- explore the diversity of styles the world of wine offers, including sparkling and fortified wines.
- learn how wine is made.
- learn how to describe a wine, using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT).

How does a level 2 course work?
Our course length is 6 hours per day during 3 days and led by a certified educator. About 10 hours of personal study is required.
The course usually starts at 9AM and finishes at 5PM.
Upon arrival, you will receive you study material as well as tasting grids.
The day will alternate interactive presentations and tastings.
The lunch is not included in the price . However we can propose options to you (restaurant, deliveries...).
The exam will take place in the last part of the course. It consists in a 60 minutes multiple choice questionnaire. You will need to answer 50 questions.
A 55% score is the threshold for passing the exam, 75% is required for passing with Merit and 85% with Distinction.
The results will be sent to you directly by the WSET London in about 4 to 6 weeks after the exam.
Upon passing, you will join the wonderful family of WSET certification holders !
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is a further step to the knowledge of the wine world and may be a crucial step for those who want to pursue a career in wine.
At the end of the course, if you pass the exam, you may continue your path by enrolling for the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines that will be available later in 2021 at LWSA.
Whether you choose to pursue or not, you will always belong to the WSET family, and that is awesome!
